The Pure Wrestling Association is owned and operated by Mike Becherer. Becherer had two partners in the beginning who are a huge reason that the PWA is here today. Those two men are Jeff Black and Joey Hallam. Mr. Black and Mr. Hallen invested countless hours promoting events and took finacial risks to bring our fans great wrestling events.

July 22nd, 2005 was the debut event for the PWA in Goderich, Ontario. This event saw the crowning of a Pure Wrestling Champion (Reggie Marley def. Jeff Black) and a Pure Violence Champion (Buck 10 def. Marc Mandrake, Warhed, PD Flexx and Shawn Brown.)

One week later, July 31st, the PWA rocked Cambridge, Ontario. This event saw the crowning of an Internet Champion as Elian Habanero defeated former WWE wrestler Shawn 'Gavin' Spears.

2005 hosted a couple more Goderich events aswell as a Cambridge Event.

2006 was a surge of PWA Wrestling with 49 Events. The towns that seen the action where Cambridge, Niagara Falls, Goderich, Brantford, Port Colborne, Guelph and New Market. This was also the year of the GLCW (Great Lakes Championship Wrestling) and PWA wars. PWA ended up winning the Battle for Brantford and ended the GLCW promotion.
